11/14/14: Food For Thought Finale
CNU's 7th annual Food for Thought Campaign came to a close on Friday, November 14. CNU student organizations, athletics, and faculty and staff collected food and monetary donations (plus a generous 10,000 pound contribution of protein from our partners at Smithfield Foods) equating to over 51,000 pounds of food for the Food Bank of the Virginia Peninsula. CNU Bonner Scholars were instrumental in planning, supporting and facilitating this event.
Senior Bonner Intern, Hillary Braden, led the effort and even appeared on WVEC news talking about the relationship between CNU students and the local community, and the necessity of students supporting our neighbors in Newport News.
